Terms of Use
Effective October 11, 2026
These terms apply to your use of TheParalegalExchange.com (the "Site") and to everything you buy or join through it. By using the Site or buying from The Paralegal Exchange ("we," "us"), you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. What we offer
The Paralegal Exchange provides trial preparation guides and other digital downloads, a paid membership, consultations, training, and file review services for paralegals, attorneys, and legal teams.
2. No legal advice and no attorney-client relationship
The Paralegal Exchange is not a law firm and does not offer any legal advice. Our guides, articles, sample documents, consultations, training, and file reviews are educational and practical resources for legal professionals. They are not legal advice, and using them or contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship.
Laws, court rules, and local practices differ by jurisdiction and change over time. You are responsible for checking that anything you use is correct and appropriate for your case, your court, and the supervising attorney's instructions. Results depend on many factors, and we make no promise about the outcome of any case.
3. License for digital downloads
When you buy a guide, bundle, or other download, you are buying a license to use it. You are not buying the content itself. Our downloads are licensed for individual use only. Each license is for one person.
With your license, you may:
- download, save, and print the material for your own use;
- use and adapt the checklists, templates, and forms in your own work on your own cases.
You may not:
- share, forward, lend, or give the files to anyone else, including coworkers who have not bought their own license;
- place the files on a shared drive, intranet, or any site where others can reach them;
- resell, republish, sublicense, or distribute the material, or any part of it, in any form;
- use the material to create or sell a competing product or training.
If your firm or team wants to use a guide, each person who will use it needs their own license. Contact us at info@theparalegalexchange.com to ask about team arrangements. We keep all rights in our content, including copyright. Any use not allowed here requires our written permission. We may end your license if you break these terms.
4. Membership
- The membership is available monthly or annually at the price shown on the Site when you join. Founding member pricing applies to the membership while it is offered, and prices for new purchases may change.
- Membership renews automatically for the period you chose until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling stops future billing. We do not refund the current billing period, and you keep access until it ends. Annual memberships cannot be refunded when cancelled. For questions about cancellations or billing, contact us at info@theparalegalexchange.com.
- Your membership is for you alone. Do not share your login or the members' materials with others.
- Members' materials, such as first looks at new guides, articles, sample documents, the preferred trial vendors list, and classes, are covered by the license terms in section 3.
- We may add, change, or retire member benefits over time. Classes described as coming soon are not guaranteed to start by any particular date, and continuing legal education credit is available only where a class has been approved by the relevant body.
- The quarterly one-on-one call is a 30 minute session for troubleshooting case management or trial preparation questions. It is not legal advice.
5. Preferred trial vendors and job postings
The list of preferred trial vendors is provided for your information. These vendors are independent businesses. We do not guarantee their work, availability, or pricing, and the list is not an endorsement for any specific case. Please do your own research before you hire anyone. Sponsored content and advertising are clearly labeled and are separate from the preferred trial vendors list. Job postings on the Site are free for anyone to view. They come from third parties, and we do not guarantee any position, employer, or hiring outcome.
6. Consultations, training, and file review
We will agree on the scope, schedule, and fees for a consultation, training, trial assistance, or file review before the work begins. Do not send us confidential case information until we have agreed on how it will be handled. You remain responsible for protecting client confidentiality and for following your jurisdiction's rules and your supervising attorney's instructions.
7. Payments
Payments are handled by our payment partners, including Payhip, Stripe, and PayPal. We do not see or store your full card number. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change at any time for future purchases. All sales of digital downloads are final.
8. Disclaimers and limits on liability
The Site and our products are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, The Paralegal Exchange and Barbara Murillo are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, arising from your use of the Site or our products. Our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. If you keep using the Site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
